Members of Kingsport Fire and Johnson City Fire competed against each other in the Bettie Golf Tournament today. This was the fourth year they have battled it out on the course, and Kingsport walked away with the trophy. Congrats to everyone who played!

Today is the last day for early voting!

This morning KFA members met with 7 State representatives, and 2 State senators from around our district!!

This week 10 Kingsport firefighters association members are in Nashville at the annual legislative conference! Members participate in two days of classroom material followed by one day on capital hill meeting with local senators and representatives!

Last week locals came together from Kingsport, Johnson City, Asheville (NC), and St. Louis County as well as a member of Avoca VFD to learn about behavioral health among firefighters. This IAFF led class instructed students to recognize signs and symptoms of behavioral issues among fellow firefighters, and how to help them in their time of need. We want to thank everyone who attended, and everyone who helped put on this class!

Congratulations to Engineer Jason Pratt for just completing his first Ironman!

Congrats to this group of firefighters from our area, including several from KFD on completing Instructor 1!

"1964" The Tribute on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 8PM at Freedom Hall Civic Center Arena Tickets on sale now! Tickets for this event are being sold through the Kingsport and Johnson City, TN Firefighters Associations. Local residents will be contacted via telephone and asked to support the organizations by purchasing ticket vouchers for this event. Funds raised will benefit residents of Kingsport and Johnson City, TN and Washington and Sullivan Counties. Proceeds will help by: providing smoke detectors for families, helping fund the Community Fire Relief Fund for victims of fire, providing funding for the Childrens Fire Safety program and continued education and specialized training.

Members of Kingsport FFA and other locals from across the state have been in Nashville this week meeting with Legislators about many bills this week including the presumptive cancer bill.

Congratulations to Kingsport Firefighter Marcus Dykes on finishing yet another IRONMAN, Ironman Chattanooga! We are proud of you!

The Kingsport Firefighters Association Local 2270 would like to ask Kingsport City residents to GO VOTE on May 16th.

The KFA is excited to endorse the following candidates in the upcoming Board of Mayor and Aldermen Election: Jennifer Adler for Alderman - 2017, Kingsport Mayor John Clark, Darrell Duncan, Rack Cross, Tom C. Parham.

Members of Local 2270 attended the TPFFA 2016 Legislative Conference this week in Nashville, TN.

Members of the Local 2270 Executive Board presented Honorary Member Dr. Mickey Spivey with a fire helmet with a custom leather shield today for all of his years of service for our members. He recently retired, but still serves as the KFD Medical Director. Thanks Doc for all that you do for the community.

The Kingsport Firefighters Association is now calling local residents for the June 5th concert at Freedom Hall. Sister Hazel will be performing, and proceeds from the ticket sales benefit Operation Warm, American Red Cross, and Camp Phoenix Burn camp.

The Kingsport Firefighters will be "filling the boot" this weekend at Food City in Colonial Heights to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. This is one of the many organizations we raise money to help support.
